REVIEW! Cadbury Pinky

Cadbury Pinky

I purchased this Cadbury Pinky a little while ago from The Stateside Candy Co. in Aldershot. This is actually a bar from New Zealand. It is marshmallow and caramel covered in Dairy Milk chocolate. This is a 40g bar and contains just 157 calories, marshmallow is low in fat so the bar boasts that it contains 50% less fat per gram than the average of leading chocolate bars.

Cadbury Pinky

I have heard that Dairy Milk from New Zealand is different to what we have in the UK and it did taste a bit less creamy but they seem to have changed the recipe here in recent times too because even our Dairy Milk doesn't seem as good as it used to. All that aside, the chocolate was still nice.

The marshmallow filling had a spongy texture and was quite sticky. The layer of caramel is quite thin and I couldn't really taste it.

Verdict
The Cadbury Pinky was nothing special, marshmallow is quite bland and there wasn't enough caramel for my taste. If you are looking for a big chocolate bar with fewer calories then this is a good choice but I would rather have a little bit of something with a bit more taste.

  1. Oh dear this sounds disappointing! I've always been curious about it but don't think I'll bother now. I still want to try the Perky Nana bar though, just for the name.

  3. OOooo I love anything Marshmallow and chocolate like, also PINK! Totally cool it's from New Zealand, sad it was disappointing though, taste wise :( I agree, Cadbury's tastes less creamy now...I've defiantly noticed it! I think there's less creaminess within international chocolate in like u.s, Asia, Auz/NZ that side of the world, because of the heat .They gotta create the chocolate to survive high melting points....so I guess we're lucky ''in a way'' to live in a colder climate, shite weather...but creamy chocolate, guess we ''one simply can't have our Cadbury's and eat it'' :P Perky Nana sounds epic hahaha

  4. Cool review Hannah. I'm not surprised that you gave it a medium score, I found the chocolate coating to be nothing more than a colour contrast. I did enjoy the marshmallow though. I tried this in New Zealand and remember holding the Pinky next to the Perky Nana - what is it with antipodean choccie bar names?!

  5. How does the Cadbury Pinky compared to Russell Stover's Chocolate covered Marshmallow Santa treats?
