REVIEW! Pizza Hut Pizzetta

Pizza Hut Pizzetta

Mr P and I decided to give Pizza Hut in Bracknell a go this weekend.  We haven't been in a while as I am not usually keen due to it not being the healthiest of options and not being a massive fan of thick doughy pizzas.  I was pleasantly surprised to see that things have changed quite a bit since I last went to the Hut, you now get a free salad with each main and they now do lower calories pizzas called Pizzettas!

There are 3 Pizzettas on the the menu and they all come in at under 500 calories.  The options are: Shrimply Delicious (king prawns, spinach, and mixed peppers), Chicken Delight (chicken breast, mushroom and red onion) and Virtuous Veg (spinach, mixed peppers, red onion, mushroom and cherry tomatoes).  I decided to go with the last option and the menu told me that it was just 440 calories.  You can view Pizza Hut nutritional information here.

From the picture in the menu, I was expecting a pretty small pizza, especially for such few calories so was very pleased when it arrived and it was a decent size. I am not sure if you can tell from my photo but the tile that it came on was probably around 30cm squared.  The Pizzetta also came with some rocket and a few more cherry tomatoes on the side.

The nice thing about this pizza is that the base is so thin and crispy so it's quite light which is how I prefer my pizzas and it was absolutely loaded with veg.  The Pizzetta was quite filling but my only complaint is that the tile that it was served on was a bit of a nightmare as the tables are so shiny that when you try and cut the pizza it starts spinning round!  I think that I would have preferred a plate or they need to put some little feet on the tiles.

I love that Pizza Hut now put their calories on the menu, I think that this is a great idea as it makes eating out so much easier for people like myself who try to watch their weight and I wish that more restaurants would do this.  I loved the Pizzetta and it means I will be more willing to visit Pizza Hut as I know I can eat pizza with Mr P without feeling too guilty.  They do really need to sort that tile out though!

Pizza Hut on Urbanspoon

  1. This looks delicious, I didn't realise Pizza Hut had these lighter pizzas. Have you tried the Leggera range in Pizza Express? They are also under 500 calories and still tasty.

Although it sounds like Pizza Hut want to give their customers' arms a workout at the same time with those spinning tile plates!

    1. It's been ages since I have been to Pizza Express, maybe I need to pay them a visit!

It does seem a lot of places are going for these lighter options on their menu which is good as I love going out to eat but I don't want to pile on the pounds!
